Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Annual Special Continental Sale of Store Lambs when a catalogued entry of 1512 lambs were on offer.

Topping the sale at £300 was a Texel Gimmer lamb from Messrs Beveridge, Low West House, Bishop Auckland. The same home also sold Beltex cross gimmers to £242.

Beltex cross wethers sold to £182 for a pair also from this home, and they also sold another pen of four Beltex cross lambs to make £180 and a pen of three Texel cross lambs at £170.

A further four pens of Beltex cross lambs sold between £162-£168 with another four pens selling between £150-£158 with one of these being a pen of fourteen wether lambs making £153.

The consignment of 206 Beltex & Texel cross lambs from Low West House sold to average a fantastic £136.75.

Mr Marston, Easegill Head, Wharton sold Beltex wethers to £155 for a pen of three, with this same home selling a pen of ten Beltex cross lambs to £142 and a pen of seven Texel cross lambs making £134 also from this home.

Mr Horn, Lower Griseburn, Great Asby sold a pair of Beltex cross lambs to make £154.

Messrs Bayles, Haithwaite, Richmond sold Beltex cross lambs to £150.

Messrs Fell, Chapel Farm, Bassenthwaite sold a pen of ten long term keep Dutch Texel cross lambs to make £138, with further pens of twelve, two tens and eight long term keep Dutch Texel lambs making £130-£131.

887 Beltex cross lambs sold to average a whopping £120.49 with an overall sale average for all breeds of £112.26 for 1512 store lambs being achieved!
