Middleton In Teesdale Sale of Saledale Draft Ewes

On Friday 25^th September, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their sale of Swaledale Draft Ewes within Middleton in Teesdale Market. A total of 3823 head arrived in the market for this highlight sale with the very best sheep meeting a strong demand while leaner, harder working sheep proved harder to place. A total ewe average of £118.40 -£7 was achieved while shearlings went on to average £138.51. before the sale the show took place this time the judging was left in the hands of youthful pair Chloe, James & mark Walton who awarded the following results:

The Championship was awarded to David and Michael Allinson, West Briscoe which went on to asell for £380 this run of 115 ewes also went to average £167.17. However top price of the day went to the Raine Family, Stanhope gate who sold the Reserve champion pen of ewes to £400 this run of 141 head went on to average £178.85. good runs of sheep from MF & KC Stobart, Grain O Beck sold 80 huge ewes to average £159.25 and  JW & GM Graham, Hunt House sold 70 to average £142.57.
