Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 27th September Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Top price today was £650 from regular travelled consignor Messrs Connell, East Drummodie for an outstanding Dairy x Simmental.  British Blue calves were in the money with Messrs Dun, Jeanfield consignment topping at £600, £570 £560 and £540 for bulls .  Angus bulls topped at £460 on four occasions twice from Messrs Irving, Brunt Hill, once from Connell Farms and also from Messrs Dun, Jeanfield.  Messrs Fowlie, Guise Farm topped the Limousin bull section at £415 for a 2 month old calf.  Messrs Graham, Hillend was up to £400 for an outstanding Limousin bull calf also Messrs Greer, Kirkcolm was up to £255 twice for Ayrshire bulls and Black and whites bulls were up to £255 again from Messrs Greer, Kirkcolm

Returning consignor Messrs Graham, Hillend topped the Limousin heifers at £545 and Connell Farms topped the Simmental section at £475.  Low House Farming who had an outstanding run of 27 calves topped the British Blue heifers at £425 and Fleckvieh heifers from Connell Farm topped at £420.  This home also topped the Angus heifers section  at £385.  Charolais heifers were   £300 twice from Messrs Kirkpatrick, Nether Place and also at £300 from Messrs Dockray, Kelsick House.
