Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 2^nd October Harrison and Heatherington held its weekly sale of store lambs in Borderway Mart.

A show of 1397 was forward with a total sale average of £74.01 being achieved, with a shortage of quality lambs being present with long term lambs proving harder to cash. Topping the sale was a single Texel lamb from KC & JH Park, Cowranside selling for £109.

 A shortage of Beltex lambs was present with top price coming for a pen of 12 from S Bowe, Midtown selling for £89. Suffolks topped at £88 from Emily Harryman, Low Farm. Mules topped at £76.50 for a pen of 6 from the same home. Many more lambs can be sold and marketed in Borderway.

Breeding sheep topped at £400 for a two shear texel ram from KC & JG Park, Cowranside. Texel three shears topped at £145 from Malcolm Watt, Field Garth for a pen of 10 and whose run of 30 ewes averaged £136.17. Broken mouth ewes topped at £90 for some mules from Messrs Mallinson, Rack Beck.
