Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday, 4^th October Harrison and Hetherington Ltd held their weekly sale of store cattle. Another large offering of 685 Store cattle formed part of another mammoth day in Borderway which saw 1733 head of cattle pass through 4 sale rings.

Ring 2 once again delivered for vendors with new faces bringing cattle and leaving with big smile on their faces.  Leading the trade today at £2120 was a humdinger of a Beef Shorthorn bullock from Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall, Castle Carrock.  Continental bullocks sold to £1810 for Limousins from Messrs McColm & Brewis, Awhirk, Stranraer.  Dairy bullocks sold to £1440 for two British Friesian from Messrs Ramsey, Dockray Hall, Wigton.   Heifers sold to £1680 for Limousins from Messrs Johnston, Low Flow, Wigton with yearlings heifers selling to £1405 from Messrs Fell, Stanger Hill, Wigton again for Limousins.
