Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 4^th October Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves which saw a roaring trade for all classes from start to finish with over a quarter of the sale consigned being Black and White. Top price bull was £580 from Messrs Threlkeld, Beyond the Moss for an outstanding bull calf. Blue bull calves were up to £575 on three occasion from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower.  Messrs Dixon, Beech House sold Charolais bulls to £450.  Angus bullock calves sold to £580 from Messrs Lyle, Nether Pratis.  Bowness Farms were up to £320 for Fleckvieh bulls and Messrs Scott, Milton Farm Hereford bull calves were sold to £490.  Messrs Dent, Bridge End was up to £320 twice for Montbelairde bulls and Messrs McCamley, Knockshiffnock was up to £255 on three occasions for Holsteins Friesians.

British Blue heifers were up to £600 from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower and Messrs Errington, Lowther Low Moor was up to £460 for Limousins  heifers.  Regular consignors Messrs Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton was up to £440 for Angus heifers.  Messrs Dockray, Kelsick House sold Charolais heifers to £380.
