Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 9^th October Harrison and Heatherington held its weekly sale of store lambs and breeding sheep in Borderway Mart.

A slightly smaller show of 987 was forward and met a much sharper trade on the week averaging £82.15. Topping the sale was Mr Tom Evans, Ghyll House who sold 2 sharp texel lambs to £118. Beltex lambs peaked at £109 from Andrew Kirkbride. £88 for a fancy pen of 6 mules consigned by B & D Wilson, Penrith. Suffolks topped at £89.50 for a pen of 11 from Hannah Galagher, Croglin. Breeding sheep met a strong demand with texel shearling rams topping at £450 from JW & PM, Blackburn, Penrith. CJ PUTT, Branteth sold a pen of 12 nice bread 1 – 2 crop ewes to top at £165 per life. Ewe lambs topped at £120 for a pen of 6 from Ollie Dean, Kirkhouse.
