MIDDLE AYRSHIRES HAVE A FLYING TRADE AT BORDERWAY

TANGO TOPS AT 3,600GNS

The Whiteford family from Middle Farm near Brampton sold an outstanding group of cows from their impressive Ayrshire and Blended Red & White herd. Years of expertise and astute breeding decisions was clearly evident when you viewed this herd of balanced dairy cows. They were uniform with exceptional rumps and strong toplines and the strength of the feet and legs was at a high level and the quality of the udders was amazing.

Ayrshire breeders from across the UK and Ireland attended the sale both in person and online. Buyers were recorded from nineteen counties with most selling for more than two thousand pounds with the overall average coming to just over £2164 per life with two animals topping at 3,600gns

First to sell for 3.600gns was Middle Bessie VG86 who was sired by Troutbeck Tango and was purchased by Mr Taylor from Aberdeen. Bessie had calved in July with her second and was giving almost 40kgs and was due again to middle Emjest.

Also selling for 3,600gns was Middle Tripova VG87 who was bought by Mr Rankin from Lanarkshire. Tripova was sired by Middle Hero and was due again with her second in January to Middle George.

Ten animals sold for £3,000 or more and this included Middle Mitzy who was bought by Mr McCulloch from Stranraer who sold for £3,400. She was sired by Troutbeck Progress, she had calved with her third in June and was giving 30kgs.

Middle Jean sold for 3,400gns to Mr Taylor from Aberdeen, she had recently classified Very Good 86 and was due again in February to Ravenhill Victory.

Our next sale at Borderway takes place on Friday 13^th October and features 200 exceptional Fleckvieh heifers from the Nethermains near Kelso. The Border & Lakeland Sale takes place on Wednesday 18^th October and features 135 cows and heifers and bulling heifers.
