Lazonby Second Sale of Mule Gimmer Lambs

On Wednesday 11^th October at Lazonby Mart, Harrison & Hetherington held their annual second sale of mule gimmer lambs. A total entry of 4600 mule lambs went under the hammer to what can only be described as one of the dearest trades witnessed this season. Nemsa lambs averaged £121.79 (+£26.71) and Non Nemsa averaging £118.66 (+£28.25) with an overall sales average of £120.56 running lambs met a blistering trade from start to finish with customers commenting how one of the last sales proves to have been the best trade of any centre. Before the sale the pre sale show took place. This year the honours fell to Mr William Taylor, The Harrass who awarded the champion pen and Mounsey Kidd trophy should be awarded to Peter and Pauline Smith, Parson Shields which later sold for top price of the day at £205 to Mr Gibson, Kendal.

Non Nemsa lambs topped at £138 for a pen of 10 from Messrs Elliot, Harbour Flatt with many small running lambs selling to £115/£120. Customers from all over the UK were present desperate for the quality on offer here in Lazonby. Many more could be sold to the vendors advantage.
