Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 18^th October Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves which included the Autumn Show which was expertly judged by Quinn Shuttleworth, from Burnside of Mabie Farm, Dumfries.  Quinn picked out her Champion calf a British Blue Heifer from Messrs Batty, Flimby Hall.  Reserve was a Blonde bull from Messrs Imrie, Harelawhole.  Todays Show was kindly sponsored by Mabie Farm Park.

Top price heifer went to Messrs Batty, Flimby Hall whose outstanding record breaking calf topped at £880.  This calf was also todays overall Champion.  Messrs Forest, Meinfoot topped the Simmental heifer section at £530 and first time calf consignor Crowhall Farms  topped the Limousin heifer section at £500.  Angus heifers topped at £350 from Messrs Horsley, Whitrigg Grange and Ramsey Ltd topped the Charolais Section at £260.

Top price bull today goes to Messrs Imrie, Harelawhole for a topper of a Blonde Aquitaine bull calf selling to £490.  Blue calves topped at £485 from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower and Messrs Forest, Meinfoot was upto £470 in the Blue section also.  Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower was upto £460 in the Angus Section and Messrs Greer, Kircolm topped the Holstein and Holstein Friesian section at £350 twice.
