Borderway Sale of Store & Breeding Sheep

On Monday 23rd October Harrison and Hetherington held its weekly sale of store lambs and breeding sheep in Borderway Mart. Another great entry of over 1024 head of Store lambs sold to a full ringside of keen buyers which saw well bred and strong lambs a blistering trade topping at £118 for a pen of 12 Texel ewe lambs from JN & PM Blackburn, Mewsteads, Newton Reigny.  Messrs Maughan, Asby Mill sold a cracking pen of 22 Beltex crosses to £115.  Suffolk lambs sold to £101 from Messrs Mitchell, Longwood.  Mules topped at £92 twice from T P Wigham, Hargill House and J G Storey, Stoneknowe, Newcastleton.  Hill Cheviots sold to £86 from Robert McNeil, East Cottage, Cumrew.  Breeding Rams topped at £450 for a Texel Shearling from R C Mitchell & Sons, Mirkbooths.  Suffolk ram lambs topped at £320 from J & V Crosier, Faugh Beeches.  Breeding ewes topped at £145 for Blue Texels from J Hind Parkheads.
