STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday, 25th October Harrison and Hetherington Ltd held their weekly sale of 560 store cattle. A mixed show was presented for sale to our usual jampacked ringside of buyers, this ensured all classes sold above and beyond vendors expectations. Sale leader this week was a Limousin x bullock from Messrs Slack, Newby, Carlisle which sold for £1960. Other strong bullocks sold to £1880 for Herefords from Messrs Robley, Demesne, with Dairy bullocks to £1750 for Fleckviehs from Messrs Ritchie, Croft Heads, Annan. A very mixed show of heifers sold to £1860 for a Simmental x from Messrs Robinson, Rowell, Milnthorpe who also dominated the native section with Herefords crosses and Aberdeen Angus crosses at £1680 and £1660 respectively.
