Borderway Store & Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 30^th October Harrison and Hetherington held its weekly sale of store lambs and breeding sheep in Borderway Mart. Another strong show of store lambs with trade up £5/hd on the week averaging £82 for 980 sold. Breeding rams sold for £190 for a Charolais shearling from RW & A Steel, Lesson Hall, Wigton.  Breeding ewes sold for £108 for a pen of 32 mule 4 crops from W & M Jackson, The Wreay, Penrith. Store lambs were a brisk trade for all classes met by a busy ringside of buyers topping at £105 for Texel crosses from A W Hague, 5 Mill Street, Frizington. Dutch Texel lambs sold to £104 from JG Bewley, Mid Farm, Wigton. Suffolk store lambs sold to £96 from Tony Rowell, Dykehead, Haltwhistle, white mule lambs topped at £90 from R Moscrop & Son, Border Rigg Bewcastle.
