Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 1^st November, Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  A bumper entry of 364 calves were a flying trade today. Both strong and young milk calves sold dearer on the week.

Topping the sale at £535 was an outstanding 4 month old British Blue bull from JW & VI Naylor, Hill Green, Drigg. TW Martin, Tempest Tower, Little Orton sold the best of their 4 month old British Blue bulls to £520. Messrs Wadsworth, Big Balcraig, Whauphill sold Aberdeen Angus bull calves to £500.

Heifer calves topped at £510 from M & JA Johnstone, Petteril Side, Southwaite. Limousin heifers topped at £500 from Big Balcraig Farm.

Montbelairde bulls sold to £440 from RG & MJJ Farish, East Farm, Newton Arlosh. Hereford Bull calves topped at £380 from Ling Dairies Ltd, Southwaite. British Friesian bull calves sold to £325 from M & M Maxwell, North Doddington, Wooler. Finally Charolais Heifer calves sold to £460 from JM & GJ Dockeray, Kelsick House, Wigton.
