Borderway Sale of Weaned Cattle

On Wednesday 1^st November Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of bulls and weaned cattle. A large number of stirks and bulls forward again with a solid trade throughout, however, smaller, aged and more weathered cattle being less money than previous weeks. Bulls started the day off in good fashion with Limousins topping at £1390 from Messrs Fletcher, Black Cleugh. The same home had another at £1340. Simmental bulls sold to £1290 and £1220 from Messrs Addison, Greystone House while British Blue bulls hit £1170 twice once from Messrs Dixon, Westfield Cottage and once from Messrs Telfer, High House. Bullocks topped at £1150 from Messrs Metcalf, High Old Sheild Farm for a very good Limousin. Heifers sold to £1200 for a Hereford from Messrs Fish, Crossrigg Farm.
