Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 7^th November, Harrison and Hetherington held their fortnightly store cattle sale at Lockerbie Mart.

A smaller number of cattle was forward, however was met head on with an abundance of buyers and a solid trade for a real mixture of animals forward.

Quality cattle were very easily sold with the lesser more weathered types slightly harder to cash.

Heifers topped at £1300 from Meikle Whitriggs for an 18 month old Shorthorn. Limousin heifers to £1250 from Messrs Ker, Justenlees. Aberdeen Angus bullocks sold to £1200 from the same home.

An 18 month old bullock from Messrs Porteous, Penlaw sold to 272ppk while 16 month old heifers from Meikle Whitriggs sold to 268ppk.
