Suffolk In Lamb Show & Sale

The Annual Suffolk In Lamb Sale was held at Carlisle on Friday and saw a top price of 2000 gns for a March born ewe lamb from G & FJ Soulsby, the Williamsgill flock. She was part of the Williamsgill major reduction sale and won Reserve Champion in the pre sale show. Sired by Strathbogie Invictus and out of a homebred ewe by Harpercroft Hamish, she joins the Crusoe flock from Messrs Robinson.

The Kexbeck from belonging to Pamela Lupton takes the next best, again a ewe lamb, this time sired by Rhaeadr Rock n  Roll, himself a son of the 90,000gn Ardlea Arbennig and our of a Ballynacannon Crusade daughter. She won second prize In her class and sold for 1800gns to the Islay flock or Faye Wilkie in Aberdeen.

The first of the inlamb sheep feature next, a substitute entry from James T Cannon, the Redbrae flock. This shearling gimmer was sired by Forkins Samson and out of a Limestone Legacy daughter. She sold carrying twins to Cairness Crafty and joins the Harpercroft flock of Messrs Goldie.

Following on at 1400gns was an aged ewe from the Sullom flock of Messrs Richmond. She won Overall Champion I the pre sale show and was sired by Pyeston Pumba. She sold in lamb to Pyeston Real Deal to Messrs Tully, Co Durham.

Messrs Goldie took a fancy to the Redbrae flock as he secures his second purchase from their pen at 1400gns. Another Forkins Samson daughter in lamb to the 5500gn Cairness Crafty.

The final entry attaining 1400gns was from the Williamsgill flock. An Alloaks Jaguar daughter who sold in lamb to Sharps Hawkeye. She sold to Messrs Cockburn, Scottish Borders.

Another Forkins Samson daughter sold to the next back at 1200gns, she again from the Redbrae flock, sold to Messrs Austin, Dumfries.
