Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 20^th December, Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  A fantastic entry of 243 calves for the final trading week of 2023 saw an explosive trade of all classes and breeds.  We would like to thank all our vendors and purchasers for their continued support over the past year and wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Topping the sale at £570 was an outstanding British Blue bull calf from Bowe Dairy Farming Co, Chalk Lodge, Cumdivock, others sold to £560 from D & M Irving Farming, Brunt Hill.  The £550 barrier was smashed 3 times for British Blue bulls from CW Gott, Burton House, W I Forster, Coombe Crag and Chalk Lodge.  Limousin bulls topped at £550 from Coombe Crag. Angus bulls peaked at £530 from D & M Irving, Brunt Hill.  British Blue heifers topped at £460 from H J Walker & Co Ltd shortly followed by pair from GJ & C Vance & Co, Balnab, Whithorn selling for £450.
