Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 3rd January, Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  A strong entry forward to kick start the New Year with strong bulls being a flying trade.  Heifers of all classes would be less money today compared to other weeks.  Top price today goes to Messrs Wadsworth, Big Balcraig topping at £600 for an outstanding Blue bull.  Messrs Wadsworth, also topped the Limousin section at £555.  Messrs Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton, was up to £540 twice for two outstanding Angus bull calves.  Fleckviehs were up to £400 twice from Messrs Henderson, East Bowhill and Messrs Sewell, Woodside was up to £330 for a Holstein Friesian. 

Messrs Wadsworth topped the Blue heifers at £460 and Messrs Fox, Windy Hill was up to £440 in the Limousin section.  Angus bulls were up to £410 from Messrs Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton and Messrs Henderson, East Bowhill had Fleckviehs to £340.
