Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 9^th January, Harrison and Hetherington held its first sale of the year at Lockerbie Mart leaving all vendors with a smile on their face. Topping the sale at £1680 was two Limousin bullocks from Messrs Richardson, Purdomstone and Messrs Wilson, Belzies. Following that at £1620 was again a Limousin from Messrs Wilson, Belzies. Topping the Aberdeen Angus sale at £1540 was again from Messrs Richardson, Purdomstone. Topping the Hereford trade at £1500 was a heifer from Pearsbyhall Farming. Longhorns topped at £1270 again from Pearsbyhall Farming. Topping the Luing section at £1440 was a heifer this time from Messrs Dodd, Tundergarth Mains. Topping the Beef Shorthorns at £1450 was Messrs Porteous, Penlaw. Topping the Simmental section at £1410 was Messrs Richie, Middlebie Hill. Topping the British Blues at £1480 was Messrs Wilson, Belzies. Topping the Charolais at £1400 was Messrs Glendining, Viewfield. Topping today’s pence per kilo at 409ppk was outstanding Limousin bullocks from Messrs Robson, Laverockhall following that at 372ppk was this time a British Blue from the same home. Charolais bullocks were next at 320ppk this time from Messrs Spence, North Corrielaw.
