Carlisle Crackers Inlamb Texel Sale

Borderway, Rosehill, Carlisle, CA1 2RS

Myfyr Evans’ Rhaeadr flock bowed out in style when dispersed as part of the Carlisle Crackers Sale, taking the sale’s top bid of 30,000gns and selling 21 ewe lambs to average £3795.

Setting the day’s top price and a second best ever price for a ewe lamb in the breed was ENM2302701,  a Streatlam Fire Carcker daughter out of a dam by Sportsmans Dare Devil. After spirited bidding she found a new home with Alan Blackwood, for the Auldhouseburn flock.

Second best of the Rhaeadr consignment and the sale overall was a 10,000gns call for ENM2302721. This ET sister to the 30,000gns sale topper sold to join Johnny Cubitt’s Long Mountain flock, Northern Ireland.

Then making 7500gns was a gimmer from the Drumbreddan flock of Daniel Hair. This was HFI2219076, a  daughter of Teiglum Eisenhower out of a dam by Claddagh Dynamite. Sold carrying to Haymount First Class she headed south to Herefordshire with Shobdon-based James and Ellie Amphlett for the Topwood flock.

A pair then made 6000gns, with the first being another of the Rhaeadr ewe lambs, ENM2302709. Another by Fire Cracker, she is out of another Dare Devil-sired dam which is full sister to the 160,000gns Rhaeadr First Choice and the 24,000gns Rhaeadr Entrepreneur. She was knocked down to Graham Morrison, Deveronvale.

Second at this price was a two-lamb ewe from Andrew Neilsen’s Brackenridge flock dispersal. This was CFT2000032, a Teiglum-bred ewe by Procters Chumba Wumba and out of a dam by Sportsmans Admiral II. Sold in-lamb to Teiglum Gunshot she was shared by Messrs MacGregor, Allanfauld and Thomas Muirhead, Ochilmore.

Next best at 5000gns was another Rhaeadr ewe lamb from Myfyr Evans, ENM2302727. Again an ET sister to the sale topper she was bought by previous buyer Johnny Cubitt.

Following her at 3500gns was one from the Allanfauld offering from Messrs MacGregor. This one, XMM2223582, is by Seaforde Egyptian Warrior and out of a dam by Knap You’re The Man. Sold carrying twins to Claybury Dunkirk, she was bought by Messrs Bennie and Sons, Dumbarton.
