Middleton Store Cattle Show & Sale

On Tuesday 16^th of January Harrison and Hetherington conducted the opening show & sale in Middleton in Teasdale Market.

A total of 114 went under the hammer to meet a pleasing trade throughout. A total sale average of £1154.43 was achieved with customers pleased with the days trading considering the weather conditions. A big thank you to all customers for supporting the sale in blizzard conditions. Before the sale the pre show sale took place with Mr Andrew Richardson stepping in last minute to judge. He awarded the champion rosette to the first prize heifer from MW & E Dent, Wythes Hill who sold later for £1400. The first prize steer from J D Bentley sold for £1260 and was also awarded the reserve champion rosette. Plainer cattle we sharper to sell whilst the top end remained a high trade. Steers topped at £1400 from Andrew Robinson, New House whose run of 15 went onto average £1286.
