STORE CATTLE –On Wednesday 24th January, Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly store cattle sale with a fantastic, catalogued entry of over 700 store cattle forward. It seems at the moment trade knows no bounds with another jump on the week, with extra buyers on top of our excellent ringside of attendance ensuring a trade to be told.
Messrs Hewetson, Lords Close, Allonby lead this week’s sale selling Charolais bullocks to £2080. Native cattle sold to £1980 for Hereford bullocks sold by Messrs Story, Tinnishall, Canonbie. Dairy types sold to £1460 for Fleckvieh from Messrs Hodgson, White House, Glassonby. Heifers sold to £1740 for a cracking British Blue from Messrs Mason, Bank Farm, Penrith. Strong numbers are required weekly with strong buyer demand for all sizes, types and breeds.
