North Country Cheviot In Lamb Sale

At Lockerbie Mart on Saturday 10^th February, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, held the annual sale of North Country Cheviot females.

The pre sale show was kindly sponsored by Davidsons Animal Feeds and judged by Mr Aled Jones, Penbache flock, who awarded the Overall Champion to the Kinaldy flock of George Milne, Fife. A Park gimmer by Allanshaws Ammarilo, sold carrying twins to the Kingside ram for £2000 to the Judge himself.

Claiming Reserve was again a Park gimmer, this time from the Carruthers flock of CR Carruthers, Lockerbie. She sold carrying twins to £5000 Gilston Duke. The Judge again backed his judgement and also purchased her for £1100.

The best Hill female sold for £1800 from the Attonburn flock belonging to Bowmont Farming. Sired by Badanloch Xtra Special selling in lamb to Sorbietrees Captain, she travels down to Clwyd for GL Ellis.

Topping the hogg section was the 2nd prize from the hightae flock. Sired by Wandylaws X-Factor and out of a Synton Top Dog daughter she sold to S & P Heads, Ayrshire for £1100.

Ewes topped at £1200 for the first prize ewe from the Carruthers flock, a 2 crop ewe sold in lamb to Gilston Duke to the Judge Aled Jones.

There was a real buzz both around the ring and online, with 20% selling on MartEye. The Auctioneer 'Michael Stewart' commented that the whole sale was a delight to sell and thanked both Vendors and Buyer for attending and participating in todays sale.
