Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 14^th February Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves. Despite a plainer show forward a top price of £600 was achieved twice. Firstly, from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower for an outstanding British Blue bull. Messrs Holmes, Nutholm also hit £600 this time with a Limousin bull. Aberdeen Angus bulls topped at £515 for a pair of 2 month old calves from Messrs Horsley, Whitrigg Grange. Simmental bulls topped at £500 for a 3 month old from Messrs Hyslop, Meinside. Young British Blue bulls topped at £470 for a 2 month old calf from Messrs Guardhouse, Nook House. Messrs Carlyle sold 1 month old Limousin bulls to £420. Holstein Friesian bulls sold to £270 from Messrs Hastwell, The Buildings. Topping the heifers at £560 was an outstanding British Blue from Messrs Bell, Mossband Hall. Simmental heifers topped at £450 for a 3 month old calf again from Messrs Hyslop, Meinside. Limousin heifer sold to £430 again from Messrs Hastwell. Herefords topped at £430 from Messrs Dixon, West Heddon. Topping the Aberdeen Angus heifers at £390 was a 2 month old from Messrs Horsley, Whitrigg Grange.
