On Monday 25th January Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store and Breeding sheep.
The opening sale of In lamb sheep, had a small entry forward, including the annual consignment from Messrs Bell, Fitz Farm, Wigton with a tremendous run of Texel cross shearling gimmers. This run of sheep topped at £300 for a pen of 5, followed by many pens selling over £200 regularly.
Following on the breeding sheep sale saw a much larger show of store sheep forward, which once again sold to a good trade. Topping this section at £124 was a pen of Beltex cross from Messrs Armstrong, Town Head, Walton. A great run of sheep from Messrs Harrison, Baggrow Farm, Wigton sold very well seeing a high of £122 head.
The total run of store sheep averaged £93.29 for a very weathered show.
