Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 27^th January Harrison & Hetherington held its weekly sale of calves.

A larger entry of 302 calves were presented to a large demand from buyers, ensuring an astounding trade throughout.

Topping the sale was a pair of British Blue steers from T & AW Wadsworth, Big Balcraig Farm, Newton Stewart selling to £560 a piece. This run of 10 British Blue calves sold to a truly superb average of £526. Aberdeen Angus calves topped at £450 for a bull calf from AJ & JA McKie, Wedholme Hill, Wigton. Limousin steers topped at £510 from Messrs Fox, Windy Hill, Carlisle.

Dairy bred calves topped at £240 from Messrs J & E Johnstone, Girthhead, Lockerbie.

The Next sale of Young Calves will take place on Wednesday 3^rd February.
