Borderway Weekly Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 3^rd February Harrison & Hetherington held its weekly sale of 330 calves where trade once again was booming.

Trade continues to soar higher than expected every week with well reared calves selling with ease. Topping today’s sale at £600 was three Fleckvieh bulls from Connel Farms Ltd. This homes consignment of 10 Fleckvieh bulls averaged £516.50. British Blues sold to a top of £570 from Messrs Wilson, Ormside Lodge. Strong dairy bred calves continue to fly topping at £350 for two black and whites from Messrs Haston, Dearham Hall. Black and whites regularly selling for £250 and Messrs Haston’s 5 black and whites sold to average £282. 60 bull calves sold for £400 or more and 10 heifer calves sold for £400 or more. 217 bull calves averaged £274.13 and 101 heifer calves averaged £286.29.

The next sale of young calves will take place on Wednesday 10^th February.
