Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of Cast & OTM Cattle on Monday when 30 head were forward.

Topping the sale at £2133.95 was a 938kg pure British Blue cow which sold for 227.5p/kg from Messrs Hartley, Robin House, Nelson and was bought by J Birkbeck for JA Jewitt, Spennymoor.

Messrs Harley also sold another British Blue cow to make 223.5p/kg and £1660.61 selling to Owain Llyr, Ruthin.

J Lancaster, Fell View Sandford sold a 902kg British Blue cow to make 182.5p/kg and £1646.15 selling to JA Jewitt.

Messrs Brass, Bridge End Farm, Soulby sold a 788kg British Blue cross cow to make 169.5p/kg and total £1335.66 selling to D Barker, Scarborough.

Trade for all classes of cast cows and OTM’s was flying with a staggering overall sale average of 153.13p/kg and £1051.15 being achieved.
