Kirkby Stephen March Show & Sale of Store Cattle

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their March show and sale of store cattle when a catalogued entry of 370 cattle were on offer.

Topping the sale at £3400 was a 13 month old Limousin heifer from Messrs Marston, Easegill Head, which went on to sell to Messrs Walker, Brennand Farm, Dunsop Bridge.

The consignment of 10 cattle from Easegill Head sold to average £1922.50.

The pre sale show was ably judged by Andrew Dyson, Ripon, who awarded the overall championship to a 10 month old British Blue cross steer also from Messrs Marston, Easegill Head which sold for £1820 to Messrs Amos, Leicestershire.

Next selling at £2100 was a 11 month old British Blue cross heifer from Messrs Anderson, Leyburn which sold to Messrs Dent, Naby View Farm, Lartington.

Messrs Marston, Easegill Head also sold 11 month old British Blue cross heifers to £1950, and a 13 month Limousin cross heifer to £1900.

A steer average of £1429.62 (up £184.24 on the year) and a heifer average of £1347.82 (up £149.53 on the year)
