Borderway Weekly Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 10th February Harrison & Hetherington held its weekly sale of calves.  A slightly smaller show of 224 calves were forward and were once again met with a glorious trade throughout.  Topping the sale were a magnificent pair of British Blue bulls from T & AW Wadsworth & Son, Newton Stewart selling for £590.  A pair of Aberdeen Angus bulls from C Horsley, Whitrigg Grange sold to £530.  This fantastic run of 14 Aberdeen Angus bulls and heifers averaged £382.  A superb run of 14 British Blue bulls and heifers from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown sold to averaged £418.  Turnbull Farming sold 3 British Blue bulls to average £431.67.  Dairy calves topped at £360 for a Holstein Friesian from A J Barraclough, Penrith.  A consignment of 12 Dairy bred calves from Peastree Farm, Carlisle went on to average average £141.58

The next sale of young calves will take place on Wednesday 17^th February.
