Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE –On Wednesday 6^th March, Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly store cattle sale.  A small show of cattle than we are accustomed to this week certainly justified the old adage “Supply and Demand” with Ring 2 carrying on with the red hot trades it has served up over different categories these last few months.  Messrs Robinson, Pelutho Park, Wigton showed the first beast in the ring and set an unmatchable target of £2300 for their Limousin x bullocks to lead the sale,  Messrs Stainton, The Garth, Croglin sold the top heifer, a great black Limousin type at £1990.  Dairy bred stock sold to £1920 for a British   bullock from Craig Irving, Thackmire, Wigton, with full bred dairy types to £1940 for Montbelairdes from Messrs Magnay, Greenwrae, Gretna.
