Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

Borderway, Rosehill, Carlisle, CA1 2RS

On Monday 15th February Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store and Breeding sheep.

BREEDINGS SHEEP: this weeks sale saw the annual consignment of inlamb hoggs from Messrs Bell, The Fitz, Wigton seeing a very good run of Texel cross and Beltex cross hoggs selling beyond all expectations.

Top price was paid for a tremendous Beltex hogg scanned twins to the Beltex, selling for £275. Other pens sold to £268 for a pen of 4 and to £258 for a pen of 4. The full consignment of 35 averaged £229.09.

More batches of in lamb sheep of all ages are required both in the ring and privately.

STORE SHEEP: The weekly sale of store sheep followed the Breeding sale, which saw demand sharper on the week, with the sale averaging £100.14. Topping the trade at £140 was Messrs Norman, Low Moorhouse Farm, for a consignment of Blue Texels hoggs.
