Borderway Store Sheep Sale

On Monday 11^th March Harrison and Hetherington conducted the weekly sale of breeding and store lambs in Borderway Mart. A smaller show of breeding ewes were forward with ewes and lambs topping at £152 a life from Messrs T Greenbank, Bolton Hall for a texel three shear and twin lambs. Inlalmb sheep topped at £141 for a texel three shear scanned twins from Hayden Nicholson, Hen Moss.

Store lambs went to new heights with a total sale average of £124.3 being achieved. Topping the sale was a single cheviot cross lamb selling to £160 from R I Lamb, High Troweir this run of 21 went onto average £132.43. Top honors went to J G & J Greig, Penrith sold a run of 19 to average £152.05 topping at £158 for a pair. Mules topped at £158 from the same home.

Pet Lambs
On Monday 11^th March Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of pet lambs. 80% of the sale consisted of one week old lambs. The trade was very strong considering the show forward were 42 lambs sold to average £13.22.

Topping the trade at £40 was a pair of Suffolk ewe lambs from Messrs Cadzow, Duncrahill. Topping the texels at £30 was a pair this time from Messrs Rae, Greenah Villa. Dutch Spotteds topped at £11 from Messrs Thompson, Lakeland View.
