Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 17th February Harrison & Hetherington held its weekly sale of 331 calves where trade continues to excel for all classes of calves. Continental heifers saw the biggest rise on the week.  Topping todays sale at £555 for a British Blue bull from Messrs Maxwell, North Doddington closely followed by three Limousin bull calves selling for £550.  Heifers sold to a top of £530 from Messrs Hetherington, Crookdake.  Eight calves sold in excess of £500 or more and 71 calves sold for £400 or more.  Once again strong black and whites sell to fantastic rates topping at £450 from Messrs Davidson, Muirhouse.  101 heifers sold to average £301.  Messrs Carlyle, Bleaberry Rigg sold 3, one month old calves to average £396.67.  Messrs Maxwell sold a run of 22 dairy bred and continental to average £384.55.

The next sale of young calves will take place on Wednesday 24^th February.
