Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of Cast & OTM Cattle on Monday.

Topping the sale at £1135.65 and 167.5p/kg was a 678kg Charolais cross cow from Messrs Procter, Villa Farm, Great Musgrave and was bought by Messrs Roberts, Wales.

Dairy cows sold to £1126.74 and 133.5p/kg for a twelve year old 844kg British Friesian cow from Messrs Hodgson, Soulby Grange, Soulby and was bought by Dovecote Park, Pontefract

For what was a plainer show of cows forward a trade that was only described as on fire was witnessed and all classes would be the dearest seen for some time!

Many more cows could easily be sold to massive advantage in the live-ring for all classes at the present time, with buyers leaving well short of their requirements.
