Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 19^th March, Lockerbie Mart, Harrison and Hetherington held their fortnightly sale of Store Cattle and despite rumours of trade being less across the land and in other markets Lockerbie Auction sees a rise with vendors expectations exceeded. Strong cattle sold extremely well with Messrs Wilson, Esbie topping the trade for a British Blue heifer at £2000. However, the yearling and younger stores were on fire from start to finish. A pen of 4 Charolais bullocks from Messrs Reid, Glendearg hit 358ppk with the same home achieving 352ppk or £1070. Charolais heifers sold to over the 330ppk for 6 from Messrs McGregor, Relief Farm. Due to the strong trade and demand for cattle at Lockerbie Auction Mart there will be another sale in a weeks’ time on Tuesday 26^th March.
