Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE –On Wednesday 27^th March, Harrison & Hetherington had a fair  entry of 360 cattle forward at Borderways weekly sale whereby the trade lifted a gear once again with trade far sharper than that of the last two weeks.  Topping the sale over was two absolute nailers of British Blue crosses from Messrs Beattie, Woodfield, Annan topping at £2150.  Limousin sold to £1830 for a pair from Messrs Donaldson, East Parks, Carlisle, £1820 and £1810 from Messrs Batey, High Knells, Carlisle.  Four Aberdeen Angus crosses from Messrs Nixon, Ribton House, Cockermouth sold to £1800 and Charolais crosses to £1670 from Messrs Kyle, Spoutbank, Brampton.

Heifers seen a days top of £1880 for a Limousin from Messrs Wilson, Street House, Carlisle.  Messrs Hall, West End, Carlisle sold two at £1800.  British Blue crosses to £1690 from Messrs Mounsey, Wardhall Guards, Wigton and Charolais to £1440 from Claremont Properties, Penrith.  Dairy steers sold to £1340 (x2) for Normandies from Messrs Rushton, Nirvana, Longtown.  £1280 for Holstein Friesians from Messrs Byers, Woodslee, Canonbie and £1205 for a pen of 6 Friesians from Messrs Roddam, Fordlands, Carlisle.
