Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE –On Wednesday 3^rd April Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 490 Store cattle.  All classes of cattle were a brisk trade being dearer on the week despite a slight dip in the Prime sector.  Messrs Beattie, Woodfield, Annan claimed the top spot again selling bullocks to £2120.  Messrs Johnstone, Low Flow, Wigton joining the £2000 club with two bullocks selling at £2080 and £2000.  Natives sold to £1810 for Aberdeen Angus x dairy bullocks from Messrs Nixon, Ribton House, West Cumbria.  Heifers sold to £1840 for dairy bred Limousin x heifers from Messrs Watson, Howrigg, Wigton.  Young cattle a marvellous trade with a lovely pen of 10 month old Charolais bullocks from Shankbridge End Farms, Longtown selling at £1410 and £1400
