On Wednesday 17^th April Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Topping todays trading was Messrs Simpson, Waingate Head with a British Blue bull at £620 and Angus Bull calves topped at £580 from Messrs Irving, Brunt Hill.  Heifers topped at £580 for a British Blue From T & E Dun, Jeanfield, Carnwath.  Angus bulls sold to £580 for a 4 month calf from D & M Irving Farming, Brunt Hill, Wigton.  C Harrington, Mounsey Bank sold 4 month Blue bulls to £570.  T & E Dun, Jeanfield sold a tremendous run of 14, 4 month Blue calves to average £530 per head.  3 month Blue bulls sold to £540 for a pair from Bateson & Braithwaite, Bowbridge Farm, Great Asby.  T W Martin, Tempest Tower sold a pair of 3 month Blue bulls to £535 .  Limousin bulls topped at £470 for 2 month old from IT & EM Carlyle, Bleaberry Rigg.  1 month old Angus bulls sold to £465 from KA & PJ Woodman & Son Ltd, Hill House, Talkin, 3 month Angus bulls sold to £460 from Evening Hill Farm, Ltd, Thursby.  Hereford bulls topped at £410 from Ling Dairies Ltd, Southwaite.  Holstein Friesians bulls sold to £380 from Evening Hill.  Hereford heifers sold to £420 from Ling Dairies Ltd,  Limousin heifers topped at £420 from Wadsworth Farming Ltd, Big Balcraig.  Angus heifers topped at £400 from Big Balcraig,  Messrs Ramsey Ltd, Dockray Hall sold a 2 month Charolais heifer calf to £380.
