Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 29^th April Harrison and Hetherington conducted the weekly sale of ewes and lambs at Borderway Mart. 

BORDERWAY BOOM CONTINUES, DON’T READ IT, COME AND SEE IT!!

The Borderway boom continues with a total of 529 lives going under the hammer. A total average of £103.69 was achieved leaving vendors ecstatic with the day’s trading.

Topping the sale was Mr David Mattinson, Cockermouth who sold a superb Suffolk shearling with a single lamb for £175 per life.

Ewe topped at £172 for a pen of 6 Suffolks with single lambs from the same home. Mr Jimmy Bell, Carluke sold a single 2 shear Texel ewe with a belter of a lamb for £172.

Mule ewes topped at £112 per life from T & A Greenbank, Wigton, while Blackface aged ewes with twin Mule lambs sold to £66 per life.

Mr Chris Hall, Whitchester sold some superb Cheviots with twin Texel lambs to £100 per life.

A great day was had with a massive ring side of buyers in attendance.
