Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday, 1^st May Harrison & Hetherington had a larger show of 600 Store cattle forward this week with a huge variety of breeds, shapes and types on offer.  The plainer end of the cattle look a fabulous return throughout with the top end in shorter supply this week.  An all in average of £1300.97 was achieved which would look favourably upon vendors.  The sale leader this week was a Limousin x bullock from Messrs Batey, High Knells, Houghton who sold at £1960.  Messrs Beattie, Shield Green topped the heifers at £1850 for another great Limousin type.  Native sold to £1720 for Angus bullocks from Messrs Slack, Cockleybank with Angus and shorthorn heifers to £1710 from Messrs Smith, West Hills Annan.
