Middleton In Teesdale Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 7^th May Harrison and Hetherington conducted its annual Show and Sale of store cattle in Middleton in Teesdale Market. A catalogued entry of 97 forward saw a magical trade with Steers averaging £1262 (+£120) and heifers to £1176 (+80).  Before the sale the show took place with this year judging being undertaken by Mr Willie Miller, High Aketon.  After much deliberation the Championship was awarded to the first prize British Blue steer from Simon Bentley, Lanehead, which later went on to make top price of the day of £1620.  The Reserve Champion went to the first prize Limousin steer from The White family, Rigg Farm selling for £1360.

Heifers topped at £1560 for a superb Limousin heifer from Nicola and Nigel Foster, Birch Bush.  Blue heifers topped at £1400 from the same home.  Beef Shorthorn heifers topped at £1200 from Carl Stephenson, Pikestone.    Our next sale at Middleton for Store cattle is 29^th October
