Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 8th May Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Top price bull calf today goes to Messrs Simpson, Waingate head topping the British Blue Section at £630.  Angus bulls were up to £600 from Messrs Irving, Brunt Hill, whilst Limousin were up to £600 again from Messrs Irving, Brunt Hill.  Holstein Friesians topped at £250 from Peepy Farms.

Heifers topped at £605 from Messrs Reed, Mosside for a thumper of a Blue heifer and Limousin heifers topped at £435 from Messrs McDougal, Heathfield.  Angus heifers sold to £425 again from the Irving family.

Conventional bulls (Including Black & Whites) averaged £289

Conventional Heifers averaged £281.75

Grass Based System calves: Bulls 66 average £115.00
