Borderway Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 13^th May Harrison & Hetherington conducted its weekly sale of ewes and lambs in Borderway Mart.  Another large show of 640 lives were forward to average £117.76.  Topping the sale was a single Texel shearling with Beltex lambs selling for £202 a life from Neville and Alison Bainbridge, Laneside.  The same home sold shearlings to £182 and £170.  Texel ewes met a blistering trade with top price coming from TR & EA Milburn, Wallend selling a single ewe with twins to £198 a life (£594).  Mule ewes topped at £126 from N & A Bainbridge while mule hoggs topped at £140 from JW Smith Jackson, Hightown with single lambs.  Hoggs topped at £172 a life from Messrs Carr, Highwood who sold 5 Texel hoggs with single lambs.  Many more sheep can be sold to advantage.
