Borderway Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 20^th May Harrison & Hetherington conducted its weekly sale of ewes and lambs in Borderway Mart.  Another phenomenal entry of over 650 lives sold to the hottest trade of the season with a ring side of buyers with “Grass Fever”.  The sale averaged £120/life.  Topping at £265/life for an outstanding 2 crop Beltex with twins from Chloe Hunter, Cape Farm, Berrier.  N & A Bainbridge, Laneside sold a top quality consignment of Texel Shearlings with Beltex lambs topping at £220/life for a pen of 9 and averaging £200/head for 31.  R Pigg & Son, Gaitsgill Hall sold a great run of breeding sheep selling a Beltex shearling with lambs to £175/life and a pen of 7 Mule hoggs with lambs to £148/head.  TR & EA Milburn, Wallend sold aged Dutch Texel ewes with twins to £155/life, also selling for £155/head was a pen of 15 aged Pure texels ewes with 18 lambs from Harry Houldey, Kirtleton House.  Suffolk hoggs with lambs sold to £152/life from Smith and Shepherd, Glebelands.  Many more outfits could have bee sold to vendors advantage.  Our next sale is Monday 27^th May where we will have a Show and sale of hoggs and lambs and ewes and lambs.
