Lockerbie Store Cattle

A break in the weather but certainly not in trade!

On Tuesday 21^st May, Harrison & Hetherington held their fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Mart.  As rain begins to fall and numbers start to tighten Lockerbie sees a rise in store cattle trade. Vendors old and new take advantage of the good climate inside the ring at Harrison and Hetherington. Limousin heifers sold to £1660 or 338ppk from Messrs Wilson, Belzies. The same vendor topped the British Blue heifers at 333ppk while Messrs More of Maxwellbank topped the Simmental heifers at £1430. Bullocks topped at £1630 from Maxwell Farming Company for their Aberdeen Angus.
