A small show of breeding stock was forward on Friday with a very keen ringside of buyers ensuring all quality stock was in great demand.

Messrs Tipling, Sleights House Farm sold Limousin x heifers with Limousin x calves at foot for £2950 and £2850. Messrs Harrison, Aldermanseat Farm’s run of outstanding Limousin and British Blue x heifers with Limousin x calves topped at £2850, £2650, £2600(x2) and £2500.

Messrs Cowan, The Ash sold a Limousin x heifer with Limousin calf for £2750. Messrs Mitchell, Mirkbooths sold a British Blue x heifer in calf to the Limousin for £2050 and a Limousin x heifer in calf to the Limousin for £1750. Messrs Pattinson, The Flatt’s run of heifers in calf topped at £2020 and £1820(x2) for Limousin heifers in calf to a Limousin and £1880 for a British Blue heifer in calf to a Limousin. Messrs Wood & Sons, Townfoot Farm’s heifers in calf topped at £1700 for a Limousin x in calf to a Limousin.
