Borderway Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 3^rd June Harrison & Hetherington conducted its weekly sale of ewes and lambs in Borderway Market.  A smaller entry was forward to a full ring side of buyers looking for all classes of sheep.

Topping the sale went to Sian Jordan, Low Fauld who sold a Dutch Spotted shearling with twin gimmer lambs selling for £200 a life (£600). Texel ewes topped at £133 a life for singles from LC & SM Johnson, Wolf Hills.  Mules topped at £93 for twins from the same home.  Hoggs once again met a delightful trade with the annual consignment of Texel cross hoggs with Beltex lambs from Paul and Jayne Inman, Kilnknowe being the highlight of the sale.  This great run of hoggs topped at £150 a life for a pen of 6 with singles and a run average of £137.86 being achieved for 58 lives.  More needed to satisfy demand here at Borderway.
