Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 5^th June Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  A smaller show forward due to great weather and field work being carried out but trade was nothing but fierce.

Top trade today goes to Messrs Sanderson, Graden Farm, Kelso topping the Simmentals at £605 for a 2 month old calf.  £600 topped the British Blues form Messrs Simpson, Waingate and Messrs McCamley, Knockshiffnock topped the Angus section of £540.  Ling Dairies returned today topping the Hereford section at £480 and Ayrshire bulls were up to £350 from Messrs Baynes, Marleycote, Hexham.

Heifers topped at £480 from Messrs Marshall, Auchenleck, Castle Douglas for an Angus and British Blues were up to £480 for a lovely Blue from Messrs Caddy, The Crescent.  Herefords were up to £420 from Messrs Wood, Groundy Croft and Charolais heifers peaked at £440 from Messrs Templeton, Glenlaugh.  More calves required weekly to keep up with extreme demand.
